Benefits and description

Squatting is more natural and less strenuous. Worldwide, 1.2 billion people excrete squatting stools and have minimal incidence of diverticulosis (colonic lumps) and fewer hemorrhoids.

Japanese doctors analyzed three positions: standard sitting, slight squat, and full squat. Radiographic observations and the effort of the course confirmed that in complete squatting, the best opening of the rectum occurs and thus the most comfortable defecation.

According to a frequently cited Israeli study at the same time, people are happier if the defecation occurred in a squatting position. All 28 volunteers aged 17-66 years who participated in the study confirmed that squat defecation was easier. Conversely, in normal sitting, a not fully open rectum can lead to "disproportionately increased effort." Earlier, the study's author, Dov Sikirov, noted that squatting was the "only natural position" for defecation.
